Nawal's paper on the drivers of Rhododendron diversity is online now.
This paper assesses the contribution of two environmental factors: topographical complexity and temperature seasonality on Rhododendron diversity in China and the results indicate that high Rhododendron diversity in south-west China is influenced jointly by the climatic gradients induced by topographical complexity and temperature seasonality. The increased topographical complexity in combination with low temperature seasonality in south-west China might have promoted species accumulation by offering more niche space, preventing extinction and providing increased opportunities for allopatric speciation.
The paper is published in Journal of Biogeography recently.
